Established in 2007, Problem Gambling Solutions, Inc. (PGS) has provided consultation, research, and training services specific to the field of problem gambling. The company President and Senior Consultant, Dr. Jeffrey Marotta, is an internationally known expert in the area of problem gambling service development with over 100 publications and national presentations. Dr. Marotta brings a unique knowledge and skill set to PGS from his experience as a Clinical Associate Professor and researcher, a National Certified Gambling Counselor-II, and a state administrator. From 2000 - 2007, Dr. Marotta developed and directed Oregon Problem Gambling Services, a problem gambling treatment and prevention system that has been nationally and internationally acclaimed.
Dr. Marotta has experience in all levels of program development and is considered a foremost expert in problem gambling service strategic planning. He has been the Primary Investigator in a number of studies including evaluating the social impacts of gambling expansion on local communities, the evaluation of responsible gaming programs, national surveys of problem gambling services, and the evaluation of problem gambling outreach services and prevention programs. In addition to Dr. Marotta’s expertise, PGS has formed business partnerships with a number of leading experts in the field of problem gambling and though collaborative efforts has the capacity to effectively and efficiently handle both large and small projects. PGS consultation services have been used by state agencies and non-profits to improve problem gambling services in multiple domestic and international jurisdictions.
